The streets of New York City have nothing on the rabbit trails of the internet. Reformed petty thief Ronnie Charles has finally landed a job on her own—no more working undercover for FBI Special Agent Frank Jankowski. As a personal private assistant, she’s now running Tripp’s Treasures, an online collectibles business, but, as she gets deeper into Tripp’s various internet businesses, she finds that not all of what he does is legal. When the mob leans heavily on Tripp, she discovers a plan that endangers her beloved New York City. She knows she’s out of her depth and the only thing that can save the city is Frank and the Bureau. But Frank, in the middle of a case involving ransomware and bitcoin laundering, gets suspended. He was pretty sure Russian Organized Crime was involved, but it’s not his case anymore. Without his job, Frank has nothing. The Bureau was his life, and to climb out of his depression he volunteers, stumbling on a case that might get him reinstated. Though she has lived and worked from Beijing to Baltimore, from Northampton to Atlanta, New York City was the place that held onto a piece of her heart. She now lives and writes in the Rocky Mountains where there is no way she could launder money for cartels.
